NEW AMBASSADOR ANNOUNCEMENT
Marathon Kids UK is delighted to announce Sally Orange as the newest recruit to our Ambassador team. Sally is an endurance runner, adventurer & mental health campaigner.
We met Sally at the National Running Show a few years ago and instantly fell in love with her passion for giving back to others and openly speaking about the importance of mental health and physical activity.
Sally is the only person on the planet to have completed a marathon on every continent dressed as a piece of fruit. Sally’s fruit costumes act as a conversation starter and a convenient way to approach the conversation of mental well-being. As you can see from the image below we were delighted to have Sally come along to our head office in Leamington Spa and try on some of the costumes she runs in.
Sally holds multiple Guinness world records and world firsts. She captained the first British female team to complete the relentless Race Across America (the world’s toughest cycle race) and has also run the toughest footrace on earth, the Marathon des Sables.
Having faced her own challenges with severe depression and chronic anxiety, Sally speaks openly in an attempt to remove the associated stigma. She encourages others to manage their own mental well-being through healthy eating, physical activity and a positive mindset.
What a fantastic role model and inspiration for our aspiring Marathon Kids across the country.
